The ei and ij are pronounced in exactly the same manner, there is really no difference in pronunciation. The difficulty for foreigners is to know when to write which. Not only foreigners though, a lot of natives often mistake them in certain words.
There is an exception for words ending in 'lijk', then you pronounce the ijk as the uck in the english word luck. Words like makkelijk (easily), vrijelijk (freely), aandoenlijk (touching), vriendelijk (friendly). A lot of words that end with ly in English will end with lijk in dutch and are pronounced exactly as the English word luck.?

Hoi! This is very helpful! However I am a bit confused as you have referred to PV2 as both finite and infinite verbs. Are both finite and infinite verbs placed in second place or just finite verbs?

Hello Rozemarijn, thank you so very much for the time and effort you have put into these Dutch lessons. I was born in the Netherlands, but never learned to read or write since we moved to Canada when I was just 4.
I am quite surprised by how much I know about the language with just verbal skill only. Your lessons are helping me with spelling and reading. I do find it very enjoyable too. May you have good health and happiness. Appreciation, Dina.

Great video, I'm still a bit confused with nomnative case possesives like mine, yours and hers. Do you just say "of me" or "of her" etc. So " the sandwich is mine"would be "De borterham is van mij".

Uitspraak en schrijven, je zal nooit schrijven zonder de slot-n zoals jij dat zegt. Als je een taal wilt leren spreken moet je dat zo goed mogenlijk proberen te doen. Is niet serieus bedoeld, maar toch.
